Ketamine Queen' pleads guilty in Matthew Perry overdose case
Accused confesses to providing the actor with the overdose that nearly took his life
Actor Matthew Perry's near-death experience with ketamine has led to a guilty plea from the so-called "Ketamine Queen". The drug was first popularized in the 1960s as an anesthetic but has increasingly been viewed as an illegal party drug. Perry was hospitalized in 2019 after a near-death experience with the drug, which he claimed to use to deal with stress.
The "Ketamine Queen", Danniella Brooks, has become well-known among celebrities for providing the drug, and police have reportedly found texts from Perry on her phone discussing narcotics use. Brooks pleaded guilty on September 3rd to charges of administering a noxious substance, intending to cause grievous bodily harm to Perry.
The maximum sentence for the charge is life imprisonment; it will be up to the judge to determine Brooks' sentence on October 7th. Despite his recent string of health issues, Friends reboots starring Perry as Chandler Bing continue to debut on HBO Max.
