Teenager Carlo Acutis: Patron Saint of the Internet
An Italian teenager has been canonised by Pope Leo XIV as the world's first millennial saint. Carlo Acutis, a London-born, Italian-raised teenager died of leukaemia in 2006, aged 15. Renowned for documenting miracles online and running Catholic organisation websites, he has been labelled the "patron saint of the internet". Acutis's canonisation ceremony took place yesterday in Rome, with thousands in attendance.
Another Italian Man Also Canonised
Another man, Pier Giorgio Frassati, an Italian mountain enthusiast who served the poor and sick, was also canonised. He died in 1925.
